Characteristics:
- Light to dark brown furry body
- No fur on wings or ears
Habitat:
- Remain near a body of water
- Nobody knows what all of British Columbia's bats do in the winter
- Thought to migrate to warmer climate or over-winter in a mild state of hibernation in caves, under tree bark, buildings, attics in B.C.
Diet
- Day roost in sheltered dark area; cave, attic, roof, tree
- Feed up to 5 hours after dusk and just before dawn
Breeding:
- Mating occurs in late fall but fertilization doesn't occur until spring
- Females form nursery colonies, have one young
- Young are independent one month after birth
