If there is a neglected or abandoned property in your area, consider contacting your local municipal or city hall. Most cities and municipalities have an "Untidy Premises Bylaw" requiring the owner of a property to maintain structures and yard areas in a condition similar or prevalent to those of the surrounding neighbourhood.
While limiting coyote attractants in your own backyard is a simple task, discussing them with your neighbours may not always be as easy or practical. For this reason SPES has provided the following anonymous notes (in PDF format) that you can print and deposit in your neighbour's mailboxes.
