Why Save Water?

  • We can't make new water if we misuse the water we have. There is not a lot of water around for people to use.
  • Of all the water on the earth, 97% is salt water, only 3% is fresh water, and most of that is frozen in polar ice caps. Less than 1% of the Earth's water is available for our use.
  • The average Canadian usually uses 450 litres of water a day, that's enough to fill 3 bathtubs!
  • Bath tubPlug the drain of your tub and take a shower. Then check the water level in the tub. Is it as deep as the water you usually run for a bath?

Day 3:

Pack a garbage-free lunch to make less waste. Try using reusable containers.

Day 4:

Use both sides of the paper you use. Even better, use less paper products altogether.
