YEELLLLLPPPPP! Look out Sis!
An eagle has swooped down in front of your den and carried your sister away.
No way am I going out there. I'm waiting for mum...
Well, it's just you and me now brother. Good thing we waited for Mum and Dad to show us around. This park is really cool and dangerous too! And these new teeth sure make playing fun! Wasn't that rat that dad brought us last night big! I didn't think we'd ever finish it. And isn't it fun going out with mum and dad for dinner? Did you see how quickly mum caught those mice? I can't believe tonight is the first time we're allowed out alone! Want to go down to the creek and look for frogs and mice? And then maybe we can go for a few berries at those bushes mum showed us?
Your brother agrees. The two of you head down towards the creek a few hundred meters from the den. You've been there often this summer for a drink and a snack, and even once or twice for a swim. After a couple of berries and two very satisfying frogs your brother suggests crossing the creek to see what's on the other side of the park.
Urban and rural coyote diets consist mainly of mice, rats and other small mammals. They also eat fish, birds, eggs, insects, snails, frogs, snakes, fruit and berries. Coyotes are such good hunters that they can catch a field mouse every twenty minutes.
